Mean square cross error: performance analysis and applications in non-Gaussian signal processing

چکیده

Abstract Most of the cost functions adaptive filtering algorithms include square error, which depends on current error signal. When additive noise is impulsive, we can expect that will be very large. By contrast, cross correlation signal and its delay, may small. Based this fact, propose a new function called mean for filters, provide value performance analysis in detail. Furthermore, present two-stage method to estimate closed-form solutions proposed method, generalize solution information theoretic learning methods, including least fourth, maximum correntropy criterion, generalized minimum kernel risk-sensitive loss. The simulations show effectivity method.

Optimization of generalized mean square error in signal processing and communication

Two matrix optimization problems are analyzed. These problems arise in signal processing and communication. In the first problem, the trace of the mean square error matrix is minimized, subject to a power constraint. The solution is the training sequence, which yields the best estimate of a communication channel. The solution is expressed in terms of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of correlat...

Mutual Information and Minimum Mean-Square Error in Multiuser Gaussian Channels

1. Introduction Due to the lack of explicit closed form expressions of the mutual information for binary inputs, which were provided only for the BPSK and QPSK for the single input single output (SISO) case, [1], [2], [3], it is of particular importance to address connections between information theory and estimation theory for the multiuser case. Connections between information theory and esti...

Aalborg Universitet Non - Gaussian , Non - stationary and Nonlinear Signal Processing Methods - with Applications to Speech Processing and Channel Estimation

The Gaussian statistic model, despite its mathematical elegance, is found to be too factitious for many real world signals, as manifested by its unsatisfactory performance when applied to non-Gaussian signals. Traditional non-Gaussian signal processing techniques, on the other hand, are usually associated with high complexities and low data efficiencies. This thesis addresses the problem of opt...

Optimum thresholding using mean and conditional mean square error

We consider a univariate semimartingale model for (the logarithm of) an asset price, containing jumps having possibly infinite activity (IA). The nonparametric threshold estimator ˆ IV n of the integrated variance IV := ∫ T 0 σ sds proposed in [6] is constructed using observations on a discrete time grid, and precisely it sums up the squared increments of the process when they are under a thres...

Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) Receiver Employing 16-QAM in CDMA Channel with Narrowband Gaussian Interference

It has been shown that employing a higher order constellation in conjunction with CDMA can improve the performance of the multiuser system in severe multipath channels. We verify that the performance improvement gained by the above interference suppression technique in the multiuser case continues to hold in the multiuser environment with narrowband Gaussian interference.
